Interdependent Economy is to understand the economy like any householder understands his household: to take care of its members, further their lifes and enable their growth as human beings.
We, as citizens, can fulfil this economic task from the different roles that house in each one of us: * as a private individual and consumer, ** as a productive contributor to the economy (paid or unpaid), *** as a democratically empowered citizen aware of the collective good.
By taking so-called 'complex' economic policy terms and structures down to the human dimension, we can empower ourselves and mandate our politicians to accomplish the goals and strategies that serve all people of this planet.
Just to name a few things:
Production and consumption (and their collective structures) are meant to serve our needs to live and to survive in a wholesome and sustainable manner -- and not to feed statistical numbers of GNP (National Product).
Banking is meant to finance production of goods and services that we need -- and not to conjure up opportunities for speculation and empty money profits that do not feed but starve people.
Work (paid or unpaid; employed or entrepreneurial) is meant to provide us with a meaningful life and to further human growth -- not to become enslaved in a system of consumption and mere accumulation.
